Description of Revisions: This bulletin replaces the version dated
January 2017. The reference to Access Freightliner is removed,
and the reader is advised to access EZWiring through PartsPro or
DTNA Connect.
General Information
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has changed the way major wiring harnesses are assembled. Major
harnesses on vehicles built with pre-EPA07 engines and earlier (engine, chassis, floor, etc) use an A06-XXXXXXXX part number and drawing. On vehicles built with EPA07 and later engines, "commodity" harnesses are
used, which require a special process to generate. Depending on the status of the bills of material, a commodity
harness may or may not be listed in EZWiring™ for a given vehicle serial number.
For service use, software is used to gather harness part numbers from many related modules into commodities,
which then generate commodity harness part numbers. Each commodity harness is related to a specific
harness layout drawing number that begins with L06 or L66-.
For vehicles where the commodity harness software has been rolled out, the commodity harness numbers are
already in EZWiring. For other vehicles, the commodity numbers are not yet in EZWiring.
Refer to the procedures in this bulletin to obtain part numbers and ordering information. For example, on
vehicle’s with an EPA10 engine, an engine commodity harness may include, but is not limited to, wires and kits
from all of the modules listed in Table 1.

In PartsPro, the bill of materials (BOM) for each of the listed modules shows varying numbers of wires, and
possibly a kit, which makes up only a portion of the commodity harness. For production, the harness vendor
takes the information from the many modules that relate to each of the commodities and puts them together
using a layout diagram. This diagram also has a drawing number listed in PartsPro, beginning with L06- or
L66-.
The assembly harness included most of the wires for each commodity, along with a few overlays for optional
features. The assembly harness was listed in one of the main modules and could be located and ordered using
PartsPro. With the new commodity harness design, there is no longer one part number listed that includes the
majority of wiring making up the main harnesses. Therefore, the parts and service technicians can only find and
order the individual harnesses or kits listed in each of the modules. This makes it very difficult to know all of the
possible modules to look in for each commodity.

Ordering an Assembled Commodity Harness using EZWiring
1. Open the EZWiring application, either in PartsPro or DTNA Connect. See Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.

IMPORTANT: Part numbers received from Customer Service with a format of FTL Sxx xxxxx xxx will
be replaced by a new format Sxx-xxxxx-xxx. Currently, both part number formats are still in use. If a
FTL Sxx xxxxx xxx part number is provided, it is the part number to order in Paragon unless it is
superseded. DO NOT change the format of the FTL Sxx-xxxxx-xxx part number to match the
Sxx-xxxxx-xxx format. These are not the same parts. For example, harness FTL S80 12345 678 is not
the same as S80-12345-678.
NOTE: A06- and/or A66-type harnesses can still be ordered through the Paragon system. Make sure
to use EZWiring drawing viewer to verify the part. If a connector is drawn with dashed lines, it does
not come with this assembly. The A06- or A66- drawings also give connector part number information.
The L06- or L66- drawing, which road maps the various harness legs, can also be viewed in the
EZWiring drawing viewer.
