VWGoA would like to inform you of the release and automatic delivery of required Special Tools which are
used on many VW vehicles to include the Beetle Cabrio, vehicles equipped with the 1.8TFSI & 2.0TFSI
EA888 engines, the Gen III TDI EA288 engine, as well as many legacy engines. Please see the tool
descriptions for details.
Starting November 18, 2013, every VW dealer will be shipped one AT-354 Special Tool Package.
Freight F.O.B. Snap-On OEM and invoiced directly by the VW Special Tools Program (Snap-On Business
Solutions - SBS).
Dealers who wish to order additional AT-354 Special Tool Packages can notify the VW Tools and
Equipment Program by calling 800-892-9650. Orders will be filled in the order they are received.
Additional individual pieces of this package may be ordered from the VW Tools and Equipment program
after the automatic shipment takes place.

The VAS5161A greatly simplifies the task of cylinder head
disassembly and reassembly. Use of this tool ensures proper
assembly of cylinder heads as per ESLA instructions and
greatly reduces the potential of engine damage.
Used to remove and install valve keepers and retainers on all
current engines and many legacy engines found in VW
vehicles.
