What’s New in Accessories.
Since 2005, adhesives have not been included in Genuine Volkswagen Aerodynamic/Body Styling Components.
In order to keep you up to date about adhesive and what is appropriate for what vehicle. Please review the following
updated information on the available adhesives for Genuine Volkswagen Accessory Aerodynamic/Appearance
Components.
Since May 1st, 2011 you will have been able to order the following part numbers through your local PDC via Parts on
Command. This will allow you offer a quality adhesive for most Genuine Volkswagen Aerodynamic and Body Styling.
For your convenience, we’ve included a reference table on pages 3 and 4 with all the details.

ATTENTION: Use caution when removing the Terostat 8599 from the heater box. It will be very warm and

What’s New in Accessories.
NOTE: Please review the appropriate installation instructions for the vehicle applied before installing. Guidelines
below are for general installs.

General guidelines when installing aerodynamic styling components:
All work steps (especially fixation and curing) must be performed at room temperature (above 18°C/65°F)

All surfaces must be dry and free of dirt and grease (recommend washing car before install).
Also place all staged parts on clean and safe working surfaces.
Read all the installation instructions of the adhesive.
Observe the pre-warming instructions of the adhesive
Mark final positions on body with non-permanent means.
Thoroughly roughen and/or primer a specified adhesion area on the aerodynamic styling components
using sand paper (per instructions recommendations).
7. Be sure to remove any paint residue.
8. Clean all adhesion areas with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol.
9. Apply adhesive, press parts into final position and secure in place with light adhesive tape.
10. Firming or Curing Time will vary depending on adhesive used (see instructions).
11. Remove all excess adhesive as necessary using an adhesive remover recommended by the adhesive
supplier that will not etch the paint on the vehicle.
12. Do not remove adhesive tape until the recommended time by the adhesive supplier, and do not run
the car through a mechanical car wash for 48 hours.
13. Always clean the painted surfaces and remove any excess material such as metal chards with a
vacuum prior to returning the vehicle to its owner.
