SUBJECT: GMT 560 Calibration Lookup by VIN and Download Process
MODELS AFFECTED: 1000 and 2000 Product Families in GMT 560 Platforms

Introduction:
Factory installed Allison TCMs in GMT 560 Platforms containing 1000 or 2000 Product Family transmissions do not
have the transmission specific CIN (calibration identification number) printed on the label. GMT 560 Platforms are found
in medium duty GMC TopKicks and Chevrolet Kodiaks. The CIN printed on these TCMs only references transmission
software and therefore cannot be used when calibrating a replacement TCM. TCMs impacted include Allison 4th
Generation Controls A40 TCMs and Pre-Allison 4th Generation Controls TCMs that are installed in these vehicles. When
one of these TCMs in service fails and the CIN cannot be read electronically, technicians must use the VIN to lookup the
appropriate calibration for the vehicle. The purpose of the SIL is to inform the service channel on how to find and
download the appropriate calibration for a replacement TCM to be used in these vehicles. This procedure does not apply
to other TCMs and vehicle combinations except for GMT 560 vehicles with a 1000 or 2000 Product Family transmission.

For step 4, the most current GM Calibration ID will be at the bottom/right of the series of numbers. In many cases there
will just be one number listed.
Login to Allison TCM Reflash and Download Calibration:

When downloading a calibration using the GM Calibration ID, CIN, or TCM Assembly Number, you will need to select
the appropriate Database.
For Allison 4th Generation TCMs, select the 4th Gen Database. For Pre-4th Generation TCMs, select the 1000/2000
Database.

Enter the GM Calibration ID into the TCM Assembly Number field in the TCM Reflash program. Only GM calibration
numbers or Allison TCM Assembly Numbers can be downloaded using this field. Other OEM part numbers are not valid.

Click the Add button to return to the main TCM Reflash window and then Submit calibration for download.
Enter in the appropriate calibration request information and click Done to download the calibration.

A message will pop up after the calibration has downloaded displaying the Allison TCM Assembly Number. Please
reference this number from this point forward.

NOTE: TCM Reflash will not allow a user to load 2500 or 3500 Series GM Pickup Truck
calibrations into TCMs. Please contact your local GM Dealership to calibrate a GM
Pickup Truck TCM.
