2017 Jetta Service Reminder Reset
Resetting the oil change service reminder
If the service was not performed by an authorized Volkswagen dealer or an authorized Volkswagen
Service Facility, the oil change service reminder can be reset as follows:
Vehicles with text messages:
1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Press and hold the . button in the instrument cluster.
3. Restart the ignition.
4. Release the button . button.
5. Confirm the query in the instrument cluster with the  button on the multi-function steering
wheel.

Vehicles without text messages:
1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Press and hold down the . button in the instrument cluster.
3. Restart the ignition.
4. Release the . button and press the   button within approximately 20 seconds.

Resetting the inspection service reminder
If the service was not performed by an authorized Volkswagen dealer or an authorized Volkswagen
Service Facility, the inspection service reminder can be reset as follows:
Vehicles with text messages:
1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Switch on the hazard warning lights.

Vehicles with text messages:
3. Press and hold down the . button in the
instrument cluster.

6. Switch off the hazard warning lights.

Do not reset the service reminder between service intervals; otherwise incorrect information will
be displayed.
If you manually reset the service interval display while flexible oil change service is valid, the“fixed
oil change service” will be activated. The service interval will no longer be calculated on an
individual basis

The service message go out after a few seconds when the engine is running or by pressing the 
button on the multi-function steering wheel.
If the vehicle battery was disconnected for long periods in vehicles with flexible service, the
system cannot calculate the time at which the next service is due. The service displays could then
display incorrect information. If this is the case, please heed the maximum permissible service intervals
listed in the ⇒ Booklet Service Schedule.
