Maserati Levante equipped with small braking system (Opt 5LR)
SUBJECT: New front calipers holding brackets
DESCRIPTION
The Maserati Levante vehicles for SOP up to MY18 included, could present noisy
occurrences from the small braking system when the braking phase is prolonged.
In case of customer complaints, the phenomenon can be avoided using the new
front calipers holding brackets.
These new brackets modify the resonance frequency of the braking system,
eliminating the annoying phenomenon.
Hereby the P/N of the brackets depending by the calipers colour:

Note: It is necessary to order 2 brackets of each vehicle.
Note: For vehicles under warranty, before proceeding with the mounting of the new
brackets, it is necessary to open a Blue on Line report as "Warranty authorization"
attaching a photograph showing the wear conditions of the front discs.

Note: Be reminded that all Maserati pads are developed to reduce the noise as much
as possible.
Maserati network is not allowed to implement any unauthorized repair
method/products (i.e grease or chamfer on the pads, chemicals in general, parts not
from Maserati or approved for the model).
CALIPERS HOLDING BRACKET REPLACEMENT
PROCEDURE
In order to replace the brackets, the proceed as reported below:
1. Follow the Procedure 4.10.005 – 15 of the Workshop Manual up to point 7
included and remove the caliper and the pads.
2. Remove the two screws (component 3 of the below image) that fix the old
bracket (component 16 of the below image) to the hub-holder.
3. Replace the old bracket with the new one and fix it at the hub-holder using two
brand new screws. Tight the screws at 185 Nm.
4. Refit the pads and the caliper following the removal procedure in reverse
order. Tight the two screws (component 12 of the above image) that fix the
caliper at the bracket at 55 Nm (+ 5Nm).
