Complaint:
Message "SRS - Service Required" is displayed in the instrument cluster and the SRS lamp is active.
Despite the SRS message, the SRS system will continue to operate as designed.
Cause:
The fault entry could have been caused by occasional high resistance at contacts due to movement of the wiring.
Remedy:
1. Disconnect (detach) the 104-pin coupling to the airbag control unit (N2/10, plug 1).
2. Remove the cable tie on the housing of the disconnected coupling using small side cutting pliers (see attachment,
photo "1").
3. Remove the contact socket carrier
from the housing and then wrap fabric tape around ALL the lines at the level of
the coupling collar (plug collar) where the cable tie was previously.
Note: Do not wrap (bandage) the fabric tape unnecessarily far into the coupling.
4. Fasten the wiring harness to the coupling housing using a new cable tie.
It is imperative to make sure that the cable tie is fitted not around the entire coupling collar as before, but specifically
as shown in photo "2" (see attachment).
5. Reconnect the 104-pin coupling in the airbag control unit (N2/10) (see attachment, photo "3").
6. Fasten the subharness to the 20-pin coupling of the airbag control unit (N2/10, plug 2) to the housing of the 104-pin
coupling of the airbag control unit (N2/10, plug 1) using a felt strip at the level of the end of the wrapping; please refer
to photo "4" in the attachment.
Note: Cut the ordered 70x50 mm felt strip to 70x10 mm.
Please do not replace any parts.

If the fault occurs again, or if this is a reoccurrence of the same complaint, a PTSS case must be created and informative photos of the work performed (overview of the feed line to the airbag control unit) must be attached to the case.
