Summary
This letter describes a discrepancy with the coach battery fuses, and the process necessary to correct the discrepancy. Certain units were manufactured with 150 Amp fuses on the coach batteries, and need to fitted with the 100 Amp fuses to meet the design requirements.

Incorrect coach battery fuses where installed on the initial Interstate 19 production units which may cause an
overloaded battery cable condition. The initial units have a 150 Amp fuse install on both the coach batteries
instead of the correct 100 Amp fuse that was required.
The procedure below is for replacing both coach battery fuses to 100 Amp fuses to meet design requirements

will be sent at no charge.
RANGE OF VEHICLES INVOLVED:
2019 Airstream Interstate 19 built between May 21st, 2018 and Nov. 21st, 2018
Serial number range: 306435 - 307124
Note: Because our VINs do not run in a contiguous series, there will be units in the VIN range
which will not be affected by this Service Bulletin.
Equipment needed:
Vehicle lift (optional)
13mm wrench
Inch pound torque wrench.
Step 1: Secure vehicle in a safe area for vehicle lifting
Step 2: Disconnect vehicle main battery negative ground connection. Located by accelerator pedal. Press
down on red tab then pull connector off steel ground stud. Secure connector away from any ground point.
Step 3: Safety lift vehicle and secure for under carriage work.
Step 4: Coach battery boxes are located on each side of the vehicle under the driver and passenger doors.
Using the 13mm wrench or socket, remove both battery negative cables and secure away from any ground
point.
Step 5: Disengage the red rubber cap and, using the 13mm wrench, remove the containment nut on the
positive fuse. Remove lock washer, flat washer and positive cable from the fuse side stud.
Then remove the 150Amp fuse and replace with 100Amp fuse.
Reconnect the positive cable, flat washer, lock washer and nut on the 100 Amp fuse. Using the inch lb. torque
wrench, torque nut to 70 inch lbs.
Step 6: Reconnect both coach battery ground cables. Torque to 70 in-lbs.
Step 8: Safely lower the vehicle
Step 9: Reconnect Vehicle ground. Push connector onto stud until you feel a click.
Step 10: Enable coach area main disconnect and verify coach compartment powers up.
Turn on vehicle and verify the vehicle starts.
