« A supply of updated owner's manuals and labels for each involved vehicle will be shipped
to dealers free-of-charge, for vehicles according to the TMS dealer stock report show
remaining in dealer inventory.

* Label(s) and an Owner's Manual will be included in the owner letter for customer vehicles.

IV. BACKGROUND

e Child Restraint System (CRS)
Toyota is conducting a Special Service Campaign (not a Safety Recall), to provide
involved vehicle owners with an updated Owner's Manual and a supplemental label
tegarding the installation of a Child Restraint System (CRS) in the rear auxiliary seat of
the vehicle. The updated Owner's Manual and supplemental label is meant to better
inform the owners of the correct CRS installation procedure, which includes flipping the
rear auxiliary seat cushion forward. The right rear auxiliary seat is also equipped with a
child restraint anchorage system that is designed to be used with certain CRSs
manufactured after 2002 which contain specialized attachment hardware. Older CRSs,
as well as all booster seats, may be installed at either the left or right rear position using
the vehicle’s safety belts. If an owner requests assistance in affixing the label and
replacing the Owner's Manuals, please assist them by utilizing these technical
instructions.

¢ Tire and Loading Information Label (Seating Capacity)
For specific late 2005 through late 2006 model year Tacoma vehicles the two rear
auxiliary seating positions were not counted on the Tire and Loading Information Label
(‘Tire Label’). To correct this condition a new label is being sent to the owner which
should be installed over the current Tire Label. The new label will correctly reflect the
vehicle's seating capacity at Total 4 and Rear 2 (Front 2). If an owner requests
assistance in affixing the label, please assist them by utilizing these technical instructions.

Note: SSC 50R which was launched in 2005 is no longer applicable and has been
deleted from TIS.
