Check Air Suspension Struts

Daimler AG (“DAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY1718 E-Class and GLC-Class vehicles, the front air suspension struts may not meet current production
specifications. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the front air suspension struts and replace
them, if necessary.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
•

Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously
repaired.

•

Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as
described.

Approximately 1339 vehicles are affected.

Check/Test Procedure
1. Lift vehicle with vehicle lift.
2. Check Q-status (A, figure 1) on the left and right air suspension strut.
The Q-status (A, figure 1) is located on the adhesive label directly on the air spring,
recognizable by the supplier name "Continental" (B, figure 1)
a. Q-status Q4 or Q5: Perform work procedure.
b. Q-status up to Q3 or from Q6: End measure

The findings from the check/test procedure must be recorded in the workshop order and securely
stored.
Work Procedure

1. Replace the air suspension struts of the front axle (AR32.25-P-1017LWL).
In the case of complaint, both suspension struts must be replaced.
Due to the risk of damage, leave all protective caps on the suspension struts until the final assembly or
threaded connection of the suspension strut. When tightening the pressure connection (position 11 of
suspension strut (2) in WIS document), pay attention to tightening torque and do not overtighten the
threaded connection, as leaks may otherwise occur.
