Information Regarding the E-FE010 LaFerrari battery maintainer

In order to support the diagnosis of problems related to the battery maintainer provided with
the LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta, we would like to remind you to observe the summary table provided
below, showing the indicator lights on the battery maintainer itself and their meaning.
A correct understanding of these indicator lights is essential in order to instruct the customer
on how to use the battery maintainer and what to do in the event of a fault, thereby limiting
unnecessary assistance requests. It is therefore recommended that you clearly inform the customer that
the Ferrari Dealership is available to provide any clarifications regarding operation of the battery
maintainer.

- IMPORTANT It is important that the customer is fully informed of what the indicator lights mean and
that they regularly check the battery maintainer for warning indications.

- IMPORTANT Connecting the device to the vehicle does not ensure that the batteries will be
automatically charged. If any faults are detected, the battery tender will block for safety
reasons and it may be necessary to carry out the procedures indicated in the tables
attached

The battery tender has 3 indicator lights (Fig. 1):

• A: Low voltage charge warning light
(Low Voltage), BLUE;
• B: High voltage charge warning light
(High Voltage), ORANGE;
• C: Operating status indicator light
(Charger Status), GREEN/RED/ORANGE.

The table below shows the possible combination of the indicator lights and the relevant meaning.

At this point, the high voltage battery (High Voltage) is
subject to a treatment known as “Balancing”.

Charge of the high voltage battery (High Voltage) can
reduce: this is normal.

Meaning
The battery tender is connected to the wall
outlet but NOT to the vehicle.
If the battery tender is connected to the vehicle
but the following combination of indicator
lights occurs, proceed as indicated below:
- disconnect and carefully reconnect both
connectors.
If necessary, clean the magnetic contact of any
impurities which could compromise the
contact.
The battery tender is connected to the wall
outlet and the vehicle, and has detected at least
one isolation fault. The device blocks charging
for safety reasons. The batteries are not being
charged.
Try to restore the battery tender following the
indications provided below:

Disconnect the high voltage battery charge
connector (High Voltage) and the low
voltage battery charge connector (Low
Voltage);
- Disconnect the battery tender from the wall
outlet until all the indicator lights have
deactivated;
- Reconnect the device to the wall outlet and
to the vehicle.
If the problem persists after having carried out
the procedure indicated above, advise the
Customer to contact the Authorised Service
Network.
The battery tender is connected to the wall outlet
but NOT to the vehicle and has detected at least
one isolation fault. Try to restore the battery
tender following the indications provided below:

the procedure indicated above, advise the
Customer to contact their local Authorized
Ferrari Dealer.

The battery tender is connected to the wall outlet and
the vehicle, and has detected a fault during the
charging stage. The device blocks charging for safety
reasons. The batteries are not being charged.
This condition could occur also if the battery tender is
connected to the wall outlet but NOT to the vehicle.
In both cases, try to restore operation of the battery
tender following the indications provided below:

- Disconnect the battery tender from the wall outlet

procedure indicated above, advise the Customer to
contact their local Authorized Ferrari Dealer.
With the battery tender connected to the wall outlet
but NOT to the vehicle, one fault is detected.
Try to restore the battery tender following the
indications provided below:

battery charge connector (Low Voltage);
- Disconnect the battery tender from the wall outlet
until all the indicator lights have deactivated;
- Reconnect the device to the power network and to
the vehicle.
If the problem persists after having carried out the
procedure indicated above, advise the Customer to
contact their local Authorized Ferrari Dealer.
The battery tender has detected a fault while charging
the low voltage battery (Low Voltage) and blocks
charging for safety reasons. The batteries are not
being charged.
Try to restore the battery tender following the
indications provided below:

The battery tender has detected a fault during the
"Balancing" process of the high voltage battery (High
Voltage) and blocks charging for reasons of safety.
The batteries are not being charged.
Try to restore the battery tender following the
indications provided below:

connector (High Voltage) and the low voltage
battery charge connector (Low Voltage);
- Disconnect the battery tender from the wall outlet
until all the indicator lights have deactivated;

the vehicle.
If the problem persists after having carried out the
procedure indicated above, advise the Customer to
contact their local Authorized Ferrari Dealer.

If the appliance does not come on and no indicator
light or acoustic indicator activates when it is
connected. Verify:

• that the integrated Trip Switch is set to "ON";
• that the domestic power socket is receiving power
correctly;
• the plug is connected to the wall outlet;
• the High Voltage and Low Voltage connectors are
correctly connected to the vehicle;

Off

If no fault is identified following these checks, this
indicates that the problem is due to an internal fault
in the battery tender.
