Condition
On some Model 3 vehicles, the Occupant Classification System (OCS) frequency might be out of range because of
electrical interference on the front passenger seat harness, causing the airbag indicator to display on the touchscreen.

Correction
Inspect the vehicle for symptoms related to the condition. If symptoms are present, install a seat harness extension and
add a ferrite filter to the front passenger seat harness.

Procedure
1. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion (refer to Service Manual procedure 13051002).
2. Move the front passenger seat fully rearward and fully upward.
3. Disconnect 12V power (refer to Service Manual procedure 17010200).
4. Locate the OCS module underneath the front passenger seat towards the front, and then disconnect the OCS module
electrical connector (Figure 1).

5. Connect the seat harness extension to the OCS module (Figure 2).

6. Attach the ferrite filter edge clips (x2) from the seat harness extension onto the lower seat cross brace next to the
vertical ribs (Figure 3).
CAUTION: Make sure that there is enough slack in the seat harness extension when the seat is in the fully raised
position.

7. Connect the seat harness extension to the front passenger seat harness (Figure 4).
CAUTION: Do not secure the excess of the seat harness extension length with cable ties as this might cause
unintended interference.

8. Install the ferrite filter onto the front passenger seat heater harness and secure it with clips (x2) (Figure 5).

9. Apply felt tape to secure the ferrite filter to the seat heater harness (Figure 6).
NOTE: Make sure to completely cover the ferrite filter with felt tape to eliminate any NVH concerns.

10. Reconnect 12V power (refer to Service Manual procedure 17010200).
11. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion (refer to Service Manual procedure 13051002).
12. Restore the front passenger seat to its original position.
