Service Action: Sunroof – Possible Leak

This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI 54 01 16 dated February 2016
MODEL

i01 (i3 Battery Electric Vehicle)
SITUATION

A Delivery Stop has been issued on i3 BEV vehicles produced from December 09, 2015 to January
22, 2016. Vehicles are equipped with a sunroof as part of the Shadow Sport limited edition. The
sunroof may not be properly sealed, so that leaks could possibly develop. This bulletin will be
updated with repair instructions and warranty information when it becomes available.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
Affected vehicles can be identified with a “open campaign” in DCS Warranty Vehicle Inquiry or
ISPA Light.
“A delivery stop has been issued for this vehicle. Dealers must ensure that all Campaigns are
completed before retail delivery to the customer. See Service Information Bulletin B54 01 16
for repair instructions.”

Refinish and Paint Work
Invoice eligible refinish and paint sublet work on the repair order at the actual cost charged with no
handling or markup. The sublet amount must also include any discounts or allowances.
The appropriate charge for “necessary repair-related paint work procedures” is determined by
comparing the charge to the corresponding amount at your warranty rates.
It is your center’s responsibility to review the estimate to ensure the paint work
reimbursement amount is fair and reasonable. Also, it must not exceed the scope of the repair
work that is described in this bulletin.
Prior to performing the repair, calculate your center’s repair cost and then obtain outside repair
estimate(s) for price comparison purposes.
Itemize the sublet amount on the repair order and in claim comment section.
