Supply and Retrofit an Additional Key Radio Remote Control (FOB) “without” Display
MODEL

G12 (740i, 750i and 750i xDrive Sedans)
From the start of production (SOP), up to and including February 29, 2016 with option code 03DS
INFORMATION

The following G12 (7 Series Sedan) vehicles:
z

740i Sedan and the 750i xDrive Sedan produced from July 2015 to February 2016; and the

z

750i Sedan produced from November 2015 to February 2016,

With the Display Key (option code 03DS) originally came accompanied with:
z

One complete remote key fob* (with valet insert) and one valet insert.

G12 (7 Series Sedan) vehicles with this option code produced on or after March 2016, as a result of
a market analysis and in anticipation of potential customer requests, now come accompanied with:
z

Two complete remote key fobs* (with valet insert) and one valet insert.

*Radio remote control without display
SITUATION

While mid-year model/equipment level
changes to vehicles commonly occur
within the automobile industry, as
previously announced, BMW of North
America, LLC (“BMW NA”) has
decided to offer this “newer equipment
level” to eligible early-adopter G12 (7
Series Sedan) owners/customers that
qualify.

PROCEDURE

For the vehicles noted above, if an owner/customer requests an additional key remote key fob*,
your center can order, supply and retrofit “one additional or a second” complete key remote fob* at
no cost to him or her.
Your center must order the specific remote key fob that matches the customer’s vehicle (VIN) and
the valet insert to create a complete key fob.
The standard secure key ordering process and the applicable “manually teaching-in the new
remote” procedure apply. Please see the attachments for more information
Important note
Reimbursement for this vehicle-specific retrofit procedure can only be submitted “one-time.”
Before ordering another complete key remote fob for a eligible vehicle, always check the
DCSnet Warranty Vehicle Inquiry’s “Repair History (Claims)” section for “Defect Code 85
10 03 01 NA.”

programming and related processing will be handled by Parts Distribution in Nazareth.
WARRANTY INFORMATION

The retrofit procedure outlined in this bulletin can be submitted for reimbursement “one-time” on
an eligible vehicle during the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light
Trucks’ coverage period of 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
Reimbursement for this key fob retrofit procedure is through normal claim entry utilizing the
following information.

Your center may only submit a claim for the VIN-specific BMW part numbers for the “Radio
remote control without display” and the “integrated key” that were ordered and retrofitted to the

vehicle
The simple process of key activation can be completed within minutes, this labor (FRU) is not be
eligible for reimbursement.
