General Information
On November 14, 2016, the New Cascadia marker light was changed in production to include an adhesive
gasket. On some New Cascadia vehicles built before November 14, 2016, water may intrude into the cab
through a marker light seal. If a leak is detected in a vehicle built before that date, install new peel-and-stick
adhesive gaskets on all five marker lights; see Fig. 1.

NOTE: The roof marker lights may collect moisture between certain portions of the lens and the
gasket. This is completely normal and does not constitute a warrantable failure. Only the part of the
lens which contains the electronics, in the center of the marker light, is sealed from the elements. See
Fig. 2.

Procedure
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.
2. Remove the two screws that attach the marker light to the cab roof.
3. Remove and discard the old gasket.
4. Peel the paper from the film adhesive on the lamp-facing side of the new gasket.
5. Install the new gasket on the marker light.

NOTICE
Do not use alcohol or solvents to clean the surfaces or to remove excessive sealant. Alcohol and
solvents will damage the marker light lens and can cause the lamp to crack.
6. Scrape any remaining sealant or gasket material from the cab surface, then using soapy water, clean the
cab roof where the marker light will be installed.
7. Make sure the cleaned surfaces are dry, then peel the backing off the roof side of the marker light gasket.

NOTICE
Do not over-tighten the marker light mounting screws. Doing so may cause the rivnuts to spin out.
8. Install the marker light, using two screws to fasten it securely. Tighten the screws 31 lbf·in ± 4.4 lbf·in (350
N·cm ± 50 N·cm).

Warranty
This procedure is warrantable only if the described condition exists and the repair is performed within the
applicable base or extended coverage warranty period. If a failure is not found, this procedure is considered
preventive and warranty does not apply.
