** SOLUTION **
Title

Remote Control Central Door Lock, Programming; Key Fob Cannot Be Programmed Or
Does Not Work After Programming - Model Year 2018 And Newer

Cause

Technicians cannot achieve key fob programming mode due to the ECU's extended
power down time.

Solution

Due to the ECU's extended power down time it is recommended to move the ignition
switch to the drive position and remove the ingnition fuse 4 times as an alternative to
cycling the ignition switch 4 times. Doing this will power down the system faster so this
step can be completed within the 15 second time frame. The remaining steps are as
follows.
1. The direction indicator lamps remain on and the system is now ready to be
programmed.
Note: The instrument cluster does not indicate programming mode.

2. Press button 1 or 2 on the original remote control.

Note: It is recommended that at least one remote control to be secured at all times,
to avoid the replacement of the module-remote control pair, if both original remote
controls are missing.

Note: This step is a security feature.

3. The direction indicator lamps turn off for approx. 1 second to indicate that the module
has recognized the original remote control.

Note: No reprogramming is possible without an original remote control.

4. Press button 1 or 2 on each remote control that is desired to be programmed.

5. The direction indicator lamps go out for approx. 1 second to indicate that the new
remote control has been added.

6. To program the next remote control repeat Step 4. The system will exit programming
status after 15 seconds if no additional remote controls are programmed. This is also the
maximum time between activating the remote control within the programming cycle.
The system will also exit after eight remote controls are programmed.

7. When the remote control returns to the 'Normal' mode, If no buttons are pressed, then
the last remote control programmed, remains current for the system.

Note: Due to the security feature, all desired remote controls to be programmed must be
programmed, before the programming mode is exited into the Normal mode. To add a
new remote control and keep the previous ones, all steps must be taken again having all
the controls ready. The module starts each programming process anew.
