Water Leak in the Right Rear Luggage Compartment Area. Water leaks into the right rear luggage compartment area and can damage any control modules located there (for example Park Distance Control PDC). Various Check Control Messages may also be displayed. CAUSE Water leaks through the seal in fuel filler cover bowl area.

SITUATION
Water leaks into the right rear luggage compartment area and can damage any control modules
located there (for example Park Distance Control PDC). Various Check Control Messages may also
be displayed.
CAUSE
Water leaks through the seal in fuel filler cover bowl area.
PROCEDURE
Perform a water leak test the area of
the fuel filler flap and cover bowl.
If traces of water are found the right
rear trunk area, replace the cover bowl.
Refer to ISTA repair instructions “ 41
63 003 Replace cover bowl”
Note: When replacing the cover bowl
make sure, that the sealing surface of
the body is clean and dry. Put a thin
layer of a silicone sealer between the
body and cover bowl seal before
assembly

If you are using a Main labor code for another repair, use the Plus code labor operation 41 63 504
instead.
Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowance
Work time labor operation code 41 99 000 is not considered a Main labor operation; however, it
does require an individual punch time and an explanation on the repair order and in the claim
comments section.
