Description of Revisions: This bulletin replaces the version dated
May 2007. The procedure to obtain a GVWR certification label
when the label has been lost or damaged has been updated.

Freightliner supplies gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) certification labels when a vehicle is built, in
accordance with 49 CFR 567.4 or 567.5. If a GVWR certification label is lost or damaged, Freightliner will
supply a duplicate label. GVWR certification labels for modified vehicles are not provided by Freightliner.
If modifications have been made to a vehicle in the aftermarket that change the gross vehicle weight rating, it is
the responsibility of the party doing the modifications to certify the vehicle to its new rating with an altered or
final stage certification label in accordance with 49 CFR 568.4 through 568.8.

Obtaining a GVWR Certification Label When a Label Has Been
Lost or Damaged
Use the following steps to obtain a duplicate vehicle weight rating certification label for an unmodified vehicle.
1. Log on to DTNAConnect.com.
2. Under the heading "DTNAConnect Resources," select the "Tools and Services" plus sign.
3. Select "Request for Certification Label or OWI."
4. Fill out the form, then select "REVIEW."

NOTE: The following information MUST be noted in the "Additional Information for Certification Label
Request" field prior to submitting:
• Vehicle Make, i.e., FTL, STL, WST, FCC.
• Requestor’s FedEx account number if requesting to be sent FedEx. If the account number is not
entered, the label will be sent by ground.

Obtaining a GVWR Certification Label When the GVWR Has Been
Changed
Freightliner does not provide GVWR certification labels for modified vehicles. For assistance in obtaining a
GVWR certification label for a vehicle that has had the GVWR changed or modified, contact the National Truck
Equipment Association (NTEA) in the U.S. In Canada, contact the Canadian Transportation Equipment
Association (CTEA). See Table 1.
