CONDITION SUMMARY:

SITUATION:
An issue has been identified on certain vehicles within the listed Affected Vehicle Range which may
have been manufactured away from process and, in some cases, the deployable side step mounting
holes have been located in an incorrect position. As a direct result, it may not be possible to attach
deployable side steps as an accessory.
NOTE:
Perform the Workshop Procedure only if fitting deployable side steps.
ACTION:
Retailers are required to HOLD affected new vehicles that are within your control and refrain from
releasing the vehicles for new vehicle sale pending completion of the Workshop Procedure detailed in
this Technical Bulletin. Unsold vehicles should have this performed as part of the Pre-Delivery
Inspection (PDI) process but must have it completed prior to vehicle handover to the customer.

WARRANT Y:

NOTE:
If installing deployable side steps, email [email protected] with the full, 17-character
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which will be then added to this program and therefore can
be claimed as appropriate through the Jaguar Land Rover Claims Submission System.
At the time of confirming a booking for vehicle repair, ensure that all outstanding Recall and Service
Actions are identified to ensure the correct parts are available and adequate workshop time is
allocated for repairs to be completed at one visit.
Warranty claims must be submitted quoting the Program Code together with the relevant Option
Code. The SRO and parts information is included for information only. The Option Code(s) that allows
for the drive in/drive out allowance can only be claimed if the vehicle is brought back into the
workshop for this action alone to be undertaken.
Repair procedures are under constant review and therefore times / prices are subject to change; those
quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Refer to the Jaguar Land Rover Claims Submission
System to obtain the latest repair time.
This program is valid for a limited time only. Warranty claims with a repair date prior to the 31 July
2021 closure date must be submitted or payment within 30 calendar days of completion of the repair.

Inspect the deployable side step mounting location.
If the mounting holes are aligned as shown (✓), no modification is necessary.
Continue with deployable side step installation.
If the mounting holes are not aligned as shown (✕), go to Step 2.

CAUTION:
The modification of the deployable side step mounting holes must be completed in the
direction shown.

Use an 8.5 mm drill bit to modify the existing deployable side step mounting holes to align
the holes.

Apply locally sourced Rust-Oleum V2100 System Black Enamel Spray Paint to both sides of the
mounting holes.

Repeat Steps 1-3 for the remaining mounting points.
