Wet soot is found in the aftertreatment system while performing repairs guided by PSB E214.

MY2017 MX-13 engines diagnosed with leaking exhaust valve guide seals.

Fix-As-Fail
If a customer comes into your dealership and demonstrates the conditions above, use the procedures below to clean and/or
repair the aftertreatment system.
Warranty
Through Standard Warranty (includes Extended Warranty) Kenworth
will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up
and labor:
3.7 hours labor to flush the EGR Cooler, Clean the venturi, inspect the DOC for face plugging, reassemble and perform
the parked regeneration. Use Quick Claim code E215A.

DPF, check for DPF breach, clean the DPF in the FSX machine (baking only), and reinstall the parts. Use Quick Claim
code E215B.
5.2 hours labor to flush the EGR Cooler, Clean the venturi, inspect the DOC for face plugging, remove the DOC and
DPF, check for DPF breach, replace needed parts, and reinstall the parts. File a long form claim.
File an additional claim for extraordinary circumstances. A quick claim for standard labor must be filed first. If you do
not have the equipment to clean the DPF/DOC, then you may file an additional claim for subletting of the cleaning.
Kenworth
dealers may perform E215 repairs on Peterbilt
chassis, but Quick Claims do not apply. For Peterbilt
chassis repairs,
use the long claim input form in DWWC selecting "Draft/Offline Claims", the "General" tab, and in the "Type of Claim" drop
down box, select "PACCAR
Engine Claim", then manually enter claim codes (Campaign #, Failure type, and SRT).
Take-Off Parts Disposition: Destroy take-off parts 30 days after claim is paid.

Procedure
Follow instructions in Rapido, and for your FSX machine, to do the following.
Flush the EGR cooler. EGR cooler cleaning may take up to 4 hours.
Clean the venturi.
Reinstall the EGR system.
Inspect the DOC for face plugging.
If the DOC face is not plugged, reassemble/reinstall the DOC and perform a parked Regeneration.
If the DOC face is plugged, continue with this procedure.
Check for a DPF breach.
If the DPF is breached, replace the damaged components as needed.
If the DPF is not breached, clean the DPF in the FSX machine.
If face plugging is found, it must be baked out, using the FSX baking kiln. Blowing out of the DOC is not acceptable, as
it will not clean out the wet deposits.
Reinstall removed parts.
NOTE
MY17/18 (EPA 17) DOC Inlet may have interference with the side of some FSX cleaning traps. New 15-200557 DOC
