This article supersedes TSB 17-2069 to update the Service Procedure.
Issue: Some 2017 Continental vehicles built on or before 15-Jun-2017 may exhibit an exterior door handle that does
not open the door and/or DTC B1519 stored in the door latch control module.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

Service Procedure
1. Is the vehicle built on or before 15-Jun-2017?
(1). Yes – proceed to Step 2.
(2). No – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14.

2. Using the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool or equivalent, retrieve DTCs. Is DTC B1519 present and/or does
the door not open using the exterior door handle?
(1). Yes - proceed to Step 3.
(2). No – this article does not apply. Refer to WSM, Section 501-14.
3. Replace all four exterior door handles.
(1). Paint the new parts to match the vehicle color.
(2). Remove and discard all exterior door handles. Refer to WSM, Section 501-14.
• Exterior mirror disassembly is not required, only removal is required to replace the exterior door handle when referred to
the Exterior Removal section is referenced.

(3). Install the new exterior door handles. Refer to WSM, Section 501-14.
• Vehicles equipped with 360 Degree View Camera will require 360 Degree View Camera Alignment. Refer to 413-13B
Parking Aid – Vehicles With: Parking Aid Camera, General Procedures.
• Carry out the Power Door Window Initialization. Refer to WSM Section 501-11, General Procedures.
