This procedure applies to Hendrickson installed UBL™
on Hendrickson’s VANTRAAX® slider suspension system
with galvanized surface coat and equipped with an
automatic weight-sensing lift control provided by the
trailer OEM.
For general safety and precautionary statements, refer

2. Remove air line, fitting and
nut from combo post on
lift air spring. Save for later
use.

3. Remove the lift air spring by removing the two
screws connecting the air spring on the back side.
Save for later reuse.
4. Remove and discard lift
bracket side bolts, nuts and
lock washers from frame
bracket.

5. Hold lift bracket while
loosening lift bracket front
bolt.

REMOVE EXISTING LIFT BRACKET
1. Ensure trailer parking brake is set during this
procedure. This will lower the axle and exhaust air
from the lift air spring and air lines.

6. With the bolt loosened,
lower and remove the lift
bracket.
7. Remove and discard lift bracket front nut, washer
and bolt.
8. Repeat procedure for opposite side.

INSTALLING NEW LIFT BRACKET
After both original lift brackets (Figure 1) are removed,
the new lift brackets can be installed as follows:
1. Place new lift bracket
onto the frame bracket as
shown.
NOTE: The lift bracket front
bolt is not used with
the new lift bracket.

7. On inboard side of frame
bracket, use the lift bracket
as a template to drill two
bolt holes 33/64”or 17/32”
(0.515" or 0.531").

8. Insert two ribbed neck
bolts into the drilled holes.
9. Repeat Step 3 to Step 6 for
each bolt.

2. Align the lift bracket
with outside holes in the
frame bracket and insert
two ribbed neck bolts as
shown.

3. Slide a lock washer over
the bolt.
4. Thread standard nut onto
the top bolt and tighten
to draw the head of the
ribbed neck bolt against
inside of frame bracket.

10. Reinstall lift air spring
using existing screws
removed in Step 3 on
page 1.

11. Reinstall lift air spring
combo post nut removed
in Step 2 on page 1
12. Tighten to 50±5 ft. lbs.
(70±4 Nm) of torque.

5. Repeat for the second bolt.
6. Tighten both nuts to 80±5
ft. lbs. (110±5 Nm) of
torque.

13. Reinstall air fittings and air
lines.
14. Restore trailer to normal operating state.
