It has come to our attention that in certain scenarios the ViewSonic Projector installed in the 2018 33’ Classic is
not compatible with campground supplied cable hookups.
The procedure below is for the 2018 33’ Airstream Classic ViewSonic Projector replacement.

Please contact the Airstream Customer Service office at 937-596-6111 ext. 7491 if parts are needed and
they will be sent at no charge.

2018 Airstream Classic trailers built between 11/18/2016 and 6/8/2018
Serial number range: 538263 - 546584
Note: Because our VINs do not run in a contiguous series, there will be units in the VIN range
which will not be affected by this Service Bulletin.

Equipment needed:

Battery Operated Drill
# 11 Drill Bit
LG Projector (Part # 513169)
Laminate Piece, 14” X 13 ½” (will have to specify interior wood color)
- Cognac Maple Part # 800572-0111
- Walnut Part # 800572-60

Old ViewSonic Projector:

New LG Projector:

The cable connections will be different since the TV tuner box will be removed from the system.
The new projector has the TV tuner built into it.

Step 1: Remove the old projector. Remove the screws from the top side of the shelf. Keep these screws to
use when installing the new projector. Disconnect the wires from the projector.

Step 2: Remove the Homework’s tuner box. It is fastened with Velcro to the top of the RF repeater box. The
HDMI cable that connects the Homework's box to the projector is not needed and can be removed. The RCA
cables from the TV tuner will need to be reused to connect the new projector. Also remove the yellow RCA
from the Blu-Ray player.

Step 3: After the projector has been removed, you will need to overlay a piece of laminate to cover the old
mounting screw holes. The edges of the laminate will be covered by trim pieces.

Step 4: Using a piece of paper, make a template for the mounting screws on the new projector

Step 5: Center the projector from side to side and line the rear of the projector up with the front of the
valance. This will give you room for the wires in the back.

Step 6: Using the red and white RCA cables from the old tuner, use a 1/8" to RCA adapter (part number
512058) connect this to the headphone jack on the side of the projector.

The HDMI, power and cable will plug into the rear of the projector.

You will now need to reprogram the remote

Reprogramming the Harmony Remote
Step 1: To reprogram the remote you will need to download and install the software at
https://setup.myharmony.com (Note: You will have to create an account and add the components onto the
remote.)

Step 2: You will be prompted to connect the remote to the computer using a phone cable.

Step 3: Following the prompts, each device will need to be added to the Harmony remote.

Step 4: Set up the activity modes. First select watch a movie and the select the Projector, screen and the
Bose speaker.

The next activity will be Watch a movie.
Select the Blu-Ray, projector, screen and the Bose speaker. Select the input for the projector to HDMI 2 and
the sound source to the Bose speaker.
