Hydraulic control manifold o-ring failure

Issue:
Terex is aware that hydraulic fluid may bypass a control valve spool in the boom hydraulic control
manifold. An issue during the machining process may contribute to o-ring failure causing this hydraulic
leakage inside the control valve spool. If an o-ring failure occurs on a valve spool in the hydraulic
control manifold, inadvertent boom movement may occur.

Action:
What the Owner must Do:
1. Terex Utilities recommends that you perform this action within 90 days of receipt of this bulletin.
2. Inspect the unit to determine if your unit has the affected hydraulic control manifold.

3. If your unit has the in-line valve spools on the hydraulic control manifold, this bulletin applies.
Follow the continued use section below.
4. If your unit has the staggered valve spools on the hydraulic control manifold, this bulletin does not
applyand use can continue without restriction.

Continued Use:
All machine users and operators must be notified of the following requirements for continued
use of affected machines:
1) Inform all users, operators, and supervisors to follow the procedure below in the event there is
hydraulic leakage around the o-ring and inadvertent boom extend movement occurs:
A) Press the emergency stop button located at the upper controls.

B) Verify the engine has shut off.
C) Lower the platform with the auxiliary letdown circuit.
D) Store the unit and remove the unit from service until the hydraulic control manifold is replaced.
2) Always follow all inspection and maintenance requirements as specified in the manuals.

What Terex will Do:
Terex will provide a replacement hydraulic control manifold for units that have the affected hydraulic
control manifold as shown.
Dealers and Installers: Dealers will be provided a list of affected units. It is the responsibility of the
selling dealers to contact owners of affected units and notify them of this bulletin. Dealers will be sent
repair kits for units they have sold. The selling dealer will be responsible for returning bulletin
completions forms to Terex Utilities for each unit repaired. If you have any questions about this bulletin;
