Information:

Fine hairline cracks can occur on the filter flange of the fuel pump on the affected vehicles.
As a result, fuel can seep out causing a smell of fuel.

Remedial
Action:

Replace filter flange of the fuel pump with an optimized component and affix additional protective film on
the filter flange of the fuel pump.

Vehicles:

50,145 vehicles in North America.

Perform preliminary work for removing the old filter flange.

Replace old filter flange of the fuel pump with a new filter flange, but do not fit the cover yet.

Affix protective film on the top of the filter
flange of the fuel pump in the marked area
 Affix protective film and remove any
bubbles.

Fit cover. To do this, tighten the four fastening
nuts  Cap -arrows-.
Then refit the loosened carpeted floor and
secure with double-sided adhesive tape.
Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Fit the retaining brackets for the seat-belt
buckles using the previously removed
fastening screws  Retaining bracket for
seat-belt buckle -arrows-.
First clean the fastening screws  Retaining
bracket for seat-belt buckle -arrows- and
the threaded bores. Then coat the fastening
screws  Retaining bracket for seat-belt
buckle -arrows- with Loctite 243 and
tighten them.
Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)

filter flange.
