New paintwork polishing cycle

Please note that the paintwork polishing cycle has been revised due to the introduction of a new
type of clear coat. The technical specification sheets of the products cited in the procedure are
attached to this Technical Information Bulletin.
Procedure

- IMPORTANT To help prevent damage to the paint finish, do not allow the surface you are working
on to become excessively warm at any point during the polishing procedure. Never
hold the polishing machine in the same spot for more than 20 seconds at a time.
Stop and wait for the paintwork to cool before resuming.

 Start to prepare the surface by wet-sanding with distilled
water and 150 mm diameter 3M P3000 finishing discs –
Fig.1.

 Polish the prepared surface with a pneumatic rotary polisher
fitted with the 150 mm diameter SIA smooth yellow sponge,
using SIACHROME CUT cutting compound – Fig.3.
Note: The technical specification sheet of this product is
attached to this Technical Information Bulletin.

 Buff away any imperfections with the orbital polisher fitted
with the 80 mm SIA black sponge, using SIACHROME
FINISH polishing compound – Fig.4.
