SITUATION
An affected vehicle fails to pass a state Inspection and Emission (I/M) test due to the “Comprehensive
Component” OBD readiness monitor status is “not complete,” or it fails complete after performing an applicable
repair.
The MIL is not on and there are no OBD relevant faults stored.
CAUSE
EMS2K DME (black case) software or hardware
CORRECTION
Check, and if necessary, program the EMS2K DME’s software to the latest version.
If the OBD readiness monitor for “Comprehensive Component” still does not complete, replace the “EMS2K
DME” with a “MS5150 DME.”
There is no immediate repair required unless an affected MINI
vehicle is currently experiencing this this issue.
PROCEDURE
1. Verify that the “Comprehensive Component” OBD readiness monitor “did not complete.”
2. Refer to the table below, and if necessary, program the “EMS2K DME” if it is not at the latest
programmed number.

requested by MINI during claim review process.
Work time labor operation codes 13 00 002, 12 00 009 and 61 99 000 are not considered a Main labor
operations. Also, since the “work time” FRU allowances to be claimed are specified, separate punch times are
not required. However, they still require an explanation on the repair order and in the claim comments section.
