Summary
ECM Reprogram Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign This bulletin applies only to vehicles equipped with SR or Nismo trim level packages. ***** Campaign Summary***** Nissan
has reclassified the previously announced quality action (P8307) for new vehicle inventory as a Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign to update the Engine Control Module (ECM) software to prevent permanent storage of a DTC as a result of a Multiway Control Valve (MCV) malfunction on 853 specific 2018 Nissan Sentra (B17) SR and NISMO vehicles equipped with the MR16DDT engine. If a MCV malfunction occurred and was repaired, the current ECM logic will allow a technician to reset the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), but the DTC will remain stored in ECM memory. Resulting in Inspection/Maintenance (I/M; a.k.a. smog test) failure when a DTC check is performed at an inspection station. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History ? Open Campaigns I.D. R1805. 2. Nissan has reclassified the previously announced quality action (P8307) for new vehicle inventory as

It is the dealer’s responsibility to check Service Comm or DBS National Service History - Open
Campaigns using the appropriate Campaign I.D. for the campaign status on each vehicle falling
within the range of this voluntary emissions service campaign, which for any reason, enters the
service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient
(tourist) owners and vehicles in dealer inventory. If a VIN subject to this voluntary service
campaign was part of a dealer trade, the letter associated with that VIN should be forwarded to the
appropriate dealer for service completion.
