Detroit Transmission and Detroit Axle Claim Submission
Please refer to DDCSN for original announcement. This is just a reiteration of the
Detroit Warranty Operation Letter.
Detroit Transmission
and Axle Claims
As previously announced, the newly branded Detroit Transmission and Detroit Axle
(formally AAC) claims will be handled through the Detroit Warranty system (DTW),
transitioning from OWL.
Pre-approval
The Pre-approval process for Detroit Axle claims will remain in the Warranty
Support Center (WSC) ticket system, until the Detroit Warranty Inquiry System
(WIS) is modified to accept the Detroit Axle Pre-approval form. The addition of this
rd
form into the WIS will occur in the 3 quarter of this year. A revision to this letter
will announce the addition of the Pre-approval form into the WIS. When the Preapproval is complete, enter the WSC ticket number into the Auth Number field on
the Detroit Warranty claim.
Key Dates
The last Detroit Axle claims submitted through OWL or the Freightliner Legacy
warranty system will be May 24, 2013. Any claims submitted into OWL or the
Freightliner Legacy system for warrantable failures on Detroit Axles after May 24,
2013, will be cancelled. Detroit Axle claims will be accepted into the Detroit
Warranty system on May 28, 2013. The 4 day period that claims will not be
accepted into any system will allow DTNA to process all accepted claims in OWL
and Freightliner Legacy systems and populate the Detroit Warranty system with all
historical claim data.
Detroit Transmission claims will be accepted into DTW beginning May 13, 2013.
