ISSUE
Some GHG14 DD Platform engines are experiencing these codes. The cylinder 6 position
(SPN: 1328) has far higher code occurrences than the other five cylinders (SPN: 1323 through
1327).
These codes are only logged at idle or fast idle conditions.
CAUSE
In some cases, there is an actual mechanical issue with the engine that causes the code. In
other cases, no problem is found with the engine, and this is being investigated further by
Detroit.
REQUIRED ACTION
Follow the published troubleshooting for the applicable code in Power Service Literature in the
EPA07/10/GHG14 DDEC VI/10 Electronics and Troubleshooting Manual (DDC-SVC-MAN0084).
Do not replace any injectors unless the troubleshooting shows an actual failure with it. This is
extremely rare.
For cases where there is no problem found, contact the Customer Support Center (CSC) for
additional MCM programming assistance for temporary help with these codes.
CLAIM PROCESS
Normal in-warranty procedures apply.
If a mechanical failure is found in warranty, file the claim against the appropriate failed part.

If no failure is found, file the claim as follows:
• Claim type: 1 (base warranty) or 2 (extended coverage)
• Authorization number: misfire
• Fault type: 83
• PFP: Reprogram
• Labor code: 021915 (programming MCM, ACM, and CPC) or 021916 (for DT12
equipped vehicles and programming MCM, ACM, CPC, and TCM)
• Labor: 0.9 hours (programming MCM, ACM, and CPC) or 1.1 hours (for DT12 equipped
vehicles and programming MCM, ACM, CPC, and TCM)
Troubleshooting may include the following labor operations and times:
• Diagnostic Labor Operation 021000C, Injector Diagnostics-Moderate, 1.0 hours
• Admin Labor Operation 939-6010B, 0.3 hours
