NOTE: You must use DiagnosticLink® Professional 8.06 with Service Pack 2 (or higher) when reprogramming.
1.
Connect DiagnosticLink to the vehicle. Make sure that all the modules (ACM, CPC, and MCM,) are
connected.
NOTE: Before you begin reprogramming, make sure the VIN is correct in all modules (ACM, CPC, and MCM). If
the VIN is not correct in all modules, you will get an error message when attempting to reprogram.
2.
Make sure the VIN is correct in all modules (ACM, CPC, and MCM) by looking at the “Identification”
screen in DiagnosticLink. If the VIN is not correct in all modules, you can correct the VIN under the Actions
drop-down menu in DiagnosticLink by selecting “Check VIN Synchronization.” Select “Start” from this panel
and follow the prompts. You will be prompted to cycle the key until the routine has completed. When synchronization is complete, turn the key back on and continue with the download process.
3.
On the Identification screen, check the current MCM and ACM software and fuel map level. Listed below
are the minimum levels required. See Fig. 9 for an example of the Identification screen for the MCM and
ACM.
• MCM 9.1.2.3 software and fuel map version ZGS 004
• ACM 9.57.1 software and fuel map version ZGS 001

4.
Is the software level for the MCM and ACM equal to or higher than the software levels listed in step 3?
Both modules must meet the minimum requirements. For the example in Fig. 9, MCM software 9.1.2.2
and ACM software 9.54.0.0 are both less than the minimum levels of 9.1.2.3 and 9.57.1.0, thus programming is required regardless of the fuel map ZGS version.
If Yes, proceed to step 5.
If No, proceed to step 6.

5.
Is the fuel map ZGS version level for the MCM and ACM equal to or higher than the levels listed in
step 3? The MCM and ACM fuel map ZGS version levels must meet the minimum requirements. For example in Fig. 10, the MCM software level meets the minimum required of 9.1.2.3, but the fuel map ZGS
version level 003 is less than the minimum level of 004, and thus would require programming.
If Yes, proceed to step 11.
If No, proceed to step 6.
