General Information
On vehicles equipped with the ICU2L (also called the Level II ICU) and a Cummins engine, the procedure listed
in the Century Class Trucks Workshop Manual, Section 54.14, Subject 110, may not work for changing the
odometer units from miles to kilometers or from kilometers to miles. Use the following procedure to make this
change.

Changing Odometer Units
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface. Shut down the engine. Set the parking brake and chock the front and
rear tires.
2. Make sure that the ServiceLink 2.2.74 update has been installed. The current version of ServiceLink can be
found by clicking on the Information button in the upper right section of the ServiceLink program screen. If
the update has not been installed, use a network or modem connection to connect to the ServiceLink FTP
server, then download the update.
3. Remove the circuit breakers for the engine ECU from the main power distribution module.
4. Connect the ServiceLink PC to the vehicle datalink.
5. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
6. Start ServiceLink.

NOTE: It is okay for the ICU2L to display the message NODATA at this time.
7. Click the Applications button in the lower left corner of the ServiceLink screen. Next, click on the icon in
the left column to select the Odometer Change Application. Finally, click the icon to launch the application.
8. After the Odometer Change Application splash screen is dismissed, and the main application is displayed,
click the OK button to reset the odometer units. The application will display a result in the Result box. Click
the Help button for application notes and information.

IMPORTANT: The Use ServiceLink Communication Settings check box is provided for troubleshooting
purposes only. Do not un-check this box unless you are directed to do so by the Freightliner Software
Help Desk.
9. Click the Exit button to exit the application.
10. Verify that the odometer units have changed from MI to KM, or KM to MI.
11. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
12. Disconnect the ServiceLink PC from the vehicle datalink.
13. Install the circuit breakers for the engine ECU.
14. Remove the chocks from the front and rear tires.
