Vehicle Hoisting Precautions And Procedure
OVERVIEW:
The 4C ground clearance from the body side skirt to level ground is 110 mm (3.5 inches).
Most standard vehicle lift arms will not fit under the vehicle. In order to lift the vehicle and
avoid vehicle damage, the vehicle must be lifted using wheel jack dollies prior to
attempting to lift the vehicle using a standard lift.
Use the recommended GOJAKS jack dolly (model 4500) or equivalent to lift the vehicle at
all four tires, then roll the vehicle into place to begin the lifting procedure.
CAUTION: Failure to follow the Vehicle Hoisting Procedure will result in vehicle
body damage.

GOJAKS jack dolly (model 4500) or equivalent

VEHICLE HOISTING PROCEDURE:
WARNING:The hoisting and jack lifting points provided are for a complete vehicle.
When the engine or rear suspension is removed from a vehicle, the
center of gravity is altered making some hoisting conditions unstable.
Properly support or secure vehicle to hoisting device when these
conditions exist. Failure to follow these instructions may result in
serious or fatal injury.
CAUTION: Do not position hoisting device on any suspension component, including
the front or rear suspension crossmembers. Do not hoist on the front
and rear bumpers, the lower radiator crossmember, or the front engine
mount. Do not attempt to raise one entire side of the vehicle by placing a
floor jack midway between the front and rear wheels. This practice may
result in permanent damage to the body.

CAUTION: When positioning the vehicle on an arm lift, take into account that the
power unit is located in the rear area.
1. Position the jack dolly (1) as shown in (Fig. 1).
2. Operate the valve (2) to adapt the jack dolly to the dimension of the front wheel then
close the valve to lock the lift (Fig. 1).
3. Press the pedal (3) to lift the vehicle and correctly position the lift arms (Fig. 1).

4. The vehicle lifting points front (1a) and rear (1b) are marked on the side skirts as
shown in (Fig. 2).
