HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS
AVAILABLE BY SELECTING “HELP” THEN “HELP CONTENTS” AT THE TOP OF
THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.
THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT LEASE 14.03 OR HIGHER TO
PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

Flash: Vehicle Enhancement
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves updating the Body Control Module (BCM) software.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before May 06, 2014 (MDH
0506XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience one or all of the following:

False security alarm activation.
A significant delay to update the ambient air temperature display.
Intermittently the interior lights may not turn on with the first press of the key fob.
Ambient temperature may display - 40 F/-40 C for a few seconds at start up.
Courtesy lamps are dim when approaching the vehicle after a remote start.
Intermittently the vehicle may not start, after the vehicle has been driven and then
trying to restart the vehicle with remote start.
Back lighting flickers after a remote start, the condition is gone after entering the
vehicle and restarting it.
Engine may turn off, after the vehicle is remote started and then unlocking the
vehicle with the liftgate passive entry.
False U0422-00-Implauible Data Received and turning on the MIL indicator lamp.

Missing DTCs for open or short cabin heater 1, 2 or 3. (Diesel Only)
False DTC setting for front Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) circuit open, DRL will
work properly.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
TechCONNECT, verify no DTC's are set other then the ones listed above. If DTC's are
present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further
with this bulletin.
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other
customers that describes the symptom/condition or if the technician finds the DTC, perform
the Repair Procedure..
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE: Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2
volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the
flash process.
NOTE: If this flash process is interrupted/aborted or failed, the flash should be
restarted.
1. Reprogram the BCM.
2. Flash reprogram the module . Help using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application for
flashing the BCM is made available through the wiTECH Diagnostic Application. For
instructions select the “HELP” tab on upper portion of the wiTECH window, then
“HELP CONTENTS.” This will open the Welcome to wiTECH Help screen where help
topics can be selected.
3. Turn off the vehicle and let the Communication Buss go to sleep, this may take over a
minute before the Buss goes to sleep. This will cause all active DTC to go stored.
Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other modules due to reprogramming. The
wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the
tech to clear them.
