SUBJECT:
Auto Comfort feature Always Defaults On In Cold Weather
OVERVIEW:
This Bulletin involves reconfiguring the vehicle for proper operation of the Auto Comfort
feature.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before January 22, 2014 (MDH
0122XX) equipped with Heated Steering Wheel (sales code NHS) and Heated
Front Seats (sales code JPM) WITHOUT Remote Start System (sales code
XBM).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may notice when the weather is cold the heated steering wheel and heated
seats will automatically turn on. The customer will have to turn off both systems each time
the key is cycled. There is no personal setting in the menu to have the Auto Comfort
System default to off when the vehicle is started. Reconfiguring the vehicle will give the
customer the option to have this feature be on or off when the vehicle is started.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH™) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
TechCONNECT, verify no DTC's are set. If DTC's are present, record them on the repair
order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the customer describes the symptom, perform the Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Using wiTECH, reconfigure the vehicle. This routine is available under the 'Diagnostic
Procedures' tab found on the home, 'Vehicle View', page of wiTECH.
2. Turn off the ignition, unplug the scan tool, open and close the drivers door and wait
one minute for all modules to go to sleep. Turn on the ignition and using the wiTECH
clear any DTCs which may have been set during the reconfiguration.
