MIL IS ON WITH DME FAULT 195014 - DIFFERENTIAL
PRESSURE SENSOR

Vehicles produced to 11/1/14 with the N20 or N55 engine.

SITUATION
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is illuminated and the following fault is stored in the Digital Motor
Electronics (DME) fault memory:

195014 – “Differential pressure sensor, tank vent valve, signal: Permanently stuck”.

CAUSE
Software error in the DME

CORRECTION
Upgrade the vehicle software using ISTA Next 4.08.1x or higher

PROCEDURE
For conditions that are similar to the situation described:
1. Perform diagnosis with the latest version of ISTA.
2. Program the vehicle using ISTA Next 4.08.1x or higher to appropriate level shown below:

Note that ISTA Next will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have
the latest software.
Always connect a BMW-approved battery charger/power supply (SI B04 23 10).

includes programming and encoding the control units, the programming procedure may only be invoiced one
time.
Vehicle Programming and Encoding
ISTA automatically reprograms and codes all the vehicle control modules that do not have the latest software ilevel. If one or more control module failures occur “during” this programming procedure:
