Title: 9000 Keyless Entry (Key Fob) Programming
Applies To: 9000 Series Trucks with Keyless Entry Feature Code: 16WJY

DESCRIPTION
Following are the Operating Instructions, Transmitter Synchronization, Programming Procedures, and Circuit
Diagram for the Remote Keyless Entry Option on the above referenced models.

PARTS INFORMATION
2590127C1, Transmitter, Remote Keyless Entry for use with 3613964C91
3613964C91, Module, harness and two remote transmitters, replacement for all 9000 Model Series

System Features
1. Door Locks
Doors lock when "LOCK" is pressed.
Press twice for horn confirmation.
Interior courtesy lights will turn on briefly to confirm that "LOCK" was successful.
2. Door Unlock
Driver's door unlocks when "UNLOCK" is pressed once.
Passenger's door unlocks when "UNLOCK" is pressed a second time within 5 seconds of the first press.

3. Illuminated Entry
Interior courtesy lights turn on when the doors are unlocked with the remote transmitter and will turn off in
approximately 40 seconds or when the ignition is turned ON (if the Parking Brake is released). If Parking
Brake is set, interior lights will turn off when Parking Brake is released or at the end of the 40 second
timeout, whichever occurs first.

Operation Summary
ACTION

Driver's door will unlock and courtesy lights will turn on for
approximately 40 seconds or until the ignition switch is turned on

Passenger's door will unlock

NOTE: The keyless entry system will respond to transmitter commands regardless of ignition switch
position or parking brake status.

Changing the transmitter battery

1.

Insert a small coin in case slot on edge of transmitter. Twist to open.

2.

Remove case backing and locate battery.

3.

Remove battery. Replace with CR2032 equivalent. Observe (+) and (-) indicators.

4.

Replace case backing. Press together firmly. Test for operation.

Transmitter Synchronization
The transmitter may need to be resynchronized to the truck receiver when the battery is replaced or when the
transmitter has not been used for an extended period of time. If the transmitter fails to operate under one of
these situations it needs to be synchronized by doing the following:
1. Hold the transmitter near the truck.
2. Press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for approximately 7 seconds.
3. When the transmitter is synchronized the door locks will cycle once.
If the transmitter fails to synchronize, reprogramming of the transmitters may be necessary. Please refer to
Programming Additional Transmitters.

Programming Additional Transmitters
NOTE: The vehicle's system module has four memory slots or locations which allow up to 4 remote
transmitters, but unlike the previous models, all four locations do not have to have a transmitter
programmed. For proper operation all transmitters must be programmed at the same time. If a new
transmitter is being added to an existing vehicle module, all the original transmitters must also be
reprogrammed in the same programming session or they will not work .

Note: The following Steps must be performed in exact sequence.
1. Set vehicle's parking brake.
2. Turn the truck's ignition switch to the OFF position.
3. Locate the programming connectors #1 and #2 at the top right of the fuse block.
4. Connect programming connector #1 with programming connector #2.
5. When first connected, the door locks will cycle. Keep the programming connectors connected throughout the
programming process.
6. Press and hold "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" at the same time on the new transmitter(s). After 12-15 seconds the
locks will cycle and the horn will beep 1 time. If additional transmitters are to be programmed, repeat Step 6 on
each transmitter to be programmed.
7. Disconnect the programming connectors.
8. Test the remote transmitter(s) for proper operation.
