Complaint:
Creaking and squeaking noises when the rear backrest is loaded on the door side (Fig. 1)

Cause:
The lateral pressure of the upholstery between the backrest cushion sides and the wheel arch liner or the pressure of
the assembly protector on the wheel arch liner causes the bearing guide of the door-side fitting does not always reach
the correct position for installing the bolts.
As a result, the bearing has too much play and can cause noises. (Fig. 2)

Remedy:
1. Slacken the bolted connection of the rear backrest frame with the problem.
2. When bolting down the backrest, make sure that the bearing on the door side is correctly seated and shake the
backrest into the required end position before tightening the bolted connection with the torque wrench. This is shown
in Fig.3, item 10 and in AR91.12-P-1620LFA under item 10.
