Complaint:
Panoramic roof roller sun blind rubs on edge of headliner.
This can prevent the roller sun blind from rolling up correctly which can lead to irreparable damage.
Cause:
1. Distance from roller blind shaft to headliner too short.
2. Gluing of fabric at edge fold of headliner not OK.
3. Cable routing in headliner not ideal.
Remedy:
1.
- Remove headliner.
- Attach two additional retainers (magnetic) per side on the two domes, see Figure 1.
Note: One retainer is already mounted on a carrier
plate, see Figure 2.
2.
- Remove tape in area of edge fold, see Figure 3.
- If the fabric is damaged, scrape off fabric debris.
- Then glue edge fold with adhesive.
3. Modify routing of cable set as per Figure 4.
Note: New adhesive tape must be used to refasten the cable set to the headliner.
4. Replace panoramic roof roller sun blind if damaged.
5. Inspect left and right roller blind guide rails for damage (Item 4.1 in AR77.21-P-0205LC). If damaged, please replace
