Possible increased friction and folding down of the sealing lips.
Window guide rails (1) of side window (2) can slip behind bottom lip (3) whereupon the bottom lip (3) folds over
(red arrow in Figure 1).
On the front doors the lip may be folded over on the window guide rail below the beltline in the area of the B-pillar (see Figure 2 and Figure 3).
During assembly the side window was pulled too tightly against the window guide rail at the top (Figure 4) in the
area of the B-pillar. This produces a high pressure on the bottom lip of the window guide rail and causes noises
when the window is raised.

Remedy:
The cause should be checked and repairs carried out in the steps below.
1.
Visual inspection of upper (Figure 5, item 2) and lower sealing lips (Figure 5, item 1) of interior window channel
seals.
- If the sealing lip has folded down, replace the affected interior window channel seal
2.
Visual inspection of window guide rails at front and rear as to whether the bottom lip has folded down (Figure 6):
- Open window and close slightly again
- Use a plastic wedge to force the window guide rail above the window until the bottom lip (1) is visible
- If the bottom lip is folded down replace the affected window guide rail

Important: When installing the side window, make sure that the bottom lip (3) is not positioned at the side of the
window

Visual inspection to check whether the lip is folded over on the window guide rail
- To do this, remove beltline trim strip
- If the lip is folded over, the window guide rail must be replaced
4.
Readjust side window. To do this
- Remove door lining
- Move side window to assembly position
- Loosen bolts until the side window can be moved
- Pull side window horizontally against B-pillar, holding the side window at the bottom (Figure 7)
- Tighten bolts
- Install door lining
Important: For this complaint it is not permitted to replace the door module including the power window or power window motor.
