Reason for block
Complaint:
Red display message in instrument cluster "Power Steering Malfunction - See Owner's Manual" immediately after engine start, steering assistance reduced.
An acoustic warning also sounds.
Fault code P063500 is stored in the control unit of the electric power steering (ES) together with the sub-fault listed
under "Remedy".
The sub-fault is logged in the control unit log or in the fault freeze frame data in the line
"Root_cause_of_DTC_failure_ID" – see example in attachment (001).

1. P063500 with the following sub-faults:
-> 33 - D401 - SDH driver - RPS sensor data comparison failure
-> 164 - D609 - SDA driver - Star point relay switch-off test
-> 176 - D423 - AAD driver - AAD driver timeout

- Check manufacture date of steering gear -> see two digit year (3) and three digit day (4) in attachment 002:
a. Manufacture date greater than or equal to "12065": Perform software update of electric power steering (ES) control
unit - see step 1
b. Manufacture date less than "12065": Replace steering gear
Note: Make sure that the current software is installed in the new electric power steering.
