Lexus vehicles are equipped with Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS), including various airbags and in
some models, seat belt pre-tensioners, to help reduce the risk of injury in a collision. If a customer expresses
any concerns that the SRS airbags or pre-tensioner devices did not perform as expected (including an
unintended deployment event), please follow the steps in the recommendations section below.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Repair Order.
1. Open a Repair Order for any vehicle with an SRS performance concem.
2. Record specific details from the customer on the operating conditions when the concern occurred in the
3. Perform a Techstream HealthCheck and record any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
4. Open a Technical Assistance case (TAS) with all relevant details and call for diagnostic support.
