Oil Seal and Hubcap Shipping Procedure
Stemco & Federal Mogul
Please review the following shipping instructions when shipping parts to
Stemco and Federal Mogul.
 All parts must be tagged appropriately.
o Each tag should include the following information
 Trailer Serial #
 Wheel Position
 UTM Claim #
 When shipping multiple parts in one package, each part must have a
secured tag attached.
 A copy of each claim form needs to be included in the package. Please
make sure to secure the claim form to avoid contact with oil/grease
 Failure to follow shipping instructions will result in the denial of claims
as the vendors cannot indentify untagged parts and UTM will not
participate if directions are not followed.
 Please ensure the correct seal is sent to the correct manufacture. NO seals
should be shipped to UTM.

detailed in the below picture. Failure to follow shipping instructions will
result in denial of claim, with NO participation from UTM.

Identifying Wheel Seals
Stemco & Federal Mogul

To ensure the correct seal is sent to the correct vendor, please see below
attachments from Stemco and Federal Mogul on properly identifying a
wheel seal.



All seals must be sent to the correct vendor, failure to properly identify
wheel seal and send to appropriate vendor will result in denial of claim,
with NO participation from UTM.



No seals, unless specified by your Regional Manager should be sent to
UTM. Failure to follow instructions will result in denial of claim.



NOTE: If vendor marking cannot be identified, Stemco is a two piece
seal and Federal Mogul is a one piece unitized seal.

OEM VS After-Market Stamping

Figure 1 above shows the location of the date code/OEM stamp on the 307-0743 seal. Below, Figure 2
depicts an OEM version of the seal. The “U” at the end of the “10B6U” date code indicates that this is an
OEM part made specifically for Utility Trailers. Figure 3 shows the aftermarket version of the same part
with the same date code. Note that the aftermarket variety will always end with a number whereas the
OEM variety ends with a letter.

307-0723 Seal-

Figure 4 above shows the location of the date code/OEM stamp on the 307-0723 seal. The only
difference in OEM/Aftermarket stamping for the two seal varieties is the location on the seal. Below,
Figure 5 depicts an OEM version of the seal. The “U” at the end of the “10B6U” date code indicates that
this is an OEM part made specifically for Utility Trailers. Figure 6 shows the aftermarket version of the
same part with the same date code. Note that the aftermarket variety will always end with a number
whereas the OEM variety ends with a letter.
