Summary
Some early production 2013 model year LS 460 vehicles may have a discharged battery after the vehicle is parked for 50 or more hours under certain limited conditions. The software in the Electric Power Control ECU has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring. Use the following repair procedure to reprogram the Electric Power Control ECU.

Introduction
Some early production 2013 model year LS 460 vehicles may have a discharged battery after the
vehicle is parked for 50 or more hours under certain limited conditions. The software in the Electric
Power Control ECU has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring. Use the
following repair procedure to reprogram the Electric Power Control ECU.

Repair Procedure
1. Confirm the vehicle was parked for 50 or more continuous hours before the battery was
fully discharged.
Was the vehicle parked for 50 or more continuous hours before the battery was fully discharged?
• YES — Continue to step 2.
• NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.
2. Using Techstream, confirm the Calibration ID of the Electric Power Control ECU.
Is the Calibration ID of the Electric Power Control ECU 50020?
• YES — Reprogram Electric Power Control ECU. Go to step 3.
• NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.

3. Flash reprogram the Electric Power Control ECU.
NOTE
• The GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station MUST be used in Power Supply Mode to maintain
battery voltage at 13.5 volts while flash reprogramming the vehicle.
• For details on how to use the GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station, refer to the
GR8 Instruction Manual located on the Technical Information System (TIS),
Diagnostics – Tools & Equipment – Battery Diagnostics.
Follow the procedure outlined in Service Bulletin No. L-SB-0015-10, “Techstream ECU Flash
Reprogramming Procedure,” and flash reprogram the Electric Power Control ECU with the
NEW calibration file update.
NOTE
• Techstream software version 8.30.023 or later is REQUIRED to perform this update.
• Authorized Modifications Labels are NOT required as part of this repair.
