Title : PTO Parking Brake Interlock Feature
Applies To : Engine Family: 2010 MaxxForce DT, 9, and 10
DESCRIPTION
The park brake interlock feature was implemented into 2010 DT, 9, & 10 with XBR1 calibration release (September 19, 2011)
and is present in every calibration since.
This feature will allow the PTO preset speeds to function once the engine speed is at base idle speed and the parking brake is
applied. If a customer does not desire this feature active in their unit, some changes need to be made to the programmable
parameters of the engine.
Note: RE Buses and any other vehicles without a body controller (with an MSM - Multiplex System Module) must have this
feature disabled by enabling the following parameters.
Using ServiceMaxx, four parameters need to be changed to turn the PTO Park Brake Interlock feature off. Use the attached
template file to program these parameters.

Download the zip file to desktop - unzip to desktop - open ServiceMaxx and under file click on open template - click on
Desktop and then find and click on I6_Recall_11925.template file and then click open button - verify the four parameters are
listed and then click the Program Engine button.
After programming with the template the following parameters should be set as outlined below to disable the feature:

These parameters when enabled allow the use of PTO without requiring the parking brake set.
Aux Throttle Control – Enable ATC Overrides (7526)
- The PTO Override Parameters have no effect on PTO feature functionality when the programmable parameter
‘Enable Overrides for PTO’ is set to 0: Disable Overrides. When set to ‘1: Enable the In- Cab PTO overrides’, the
status of the parking brake does not impact PTO function.
o 0: Disable the In- Cab PTO overrides
o 1: Enable the In- Cab PTO overrides

When set to ‘0: Parking Brake Disables RP’, the parking brake must be set before Remote PTO will function. When
set to ‘1: Parking Brake does not disable RP’, the status of the parking brake does not impact Remote PTO function.
