Procedure to clear active fault 2698
SYMPTOMS
• Stop engine light is on, DTC 2698 is active and low power.
POSSIBLE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES

DIAGNOSTICS
1) Repair any active fault codes that may prevent a forced regen before proceeding to step 2.
2) Run the AFS flow test using ServiceMaxx. If the flow does not meet specs (6 oz or 180 ml)
follow this IKNow document IK1200425
3) Once the AFI is clean and there are no active fault codes that will prevent a regen. Open ServiceMaxx
to
the Aftertreatment session and run the Onboard Filter Cleanliness Test (OFCT).
Note: You may want to record the Aftertreatment session for future reference.
Note: EGT 2 and 3 should reach and maintain temperatures around 1000F.

4) Run the OFCT one more time
5) If the truck has Progressive Shift (PS) or Gear Down Protection (GDP) enabled, they will have to be
disabled temporarily.
6) Road test the truck to obtain road speeds above 40 mph and above 1700 rpms. Continue driving the
truck
until the code goes inactive and return to the shop. At these higher speeds exhaust flow will increase
across
the DPF changing the calculated soot load.
7) Run one more Onboard Filter Cleanliness Test and monitor the EGT's as stated previously.
8) Turn Progressive Shift and Gear Down Protection back on if disabled in step 5.
9) If code 2698 is inactive release the truck back to the customer. If 2698 is still active open a case file
with Tech Central.
