DESCRIPTION
This document will guide the user through Module Kernel Updating with DLB.
On the LT, RH, HV and MV model trucks the Instrument Cluster, Six Position Switch-Packs, Light Control Module and the
Stalk Shifter can be updated.
New Software Versions for the Cluster:
4.02.01 (Premium)
4.01.03 (Base)
Resolves problem of trailer ABS light performing bulb check at key on.

• Prior to connecting to the truck, with DLB, verify that the VIN has been deleted from the list in the Select Tab.
• Unless you are programming the stalk shifter, MUX switches, or door pods you can program the cluster and body controller with the
key off. Connect to truck with DLB let it detect the modules, then click on the Detected Modules tab to see the Kernel information for
this VIN.
• If the Detected Kernel and Kernel columns are not displayed, Right click on the column header, Red arrow in the graphic below, to
select them.

Only modules that are installed on the vehicle in question will show up under the Detected
Modules tab.
There may be as many as 5 Switch Packs installed on the vehicle. Make sure that all of them
are showing up as detected if you are going to try and program them.
• Left click, on the Update All software Icon, or update module if you are only updating one component.
• After Left clicking, the Kernel versions will update to a newer version in the selected module column if an update is available
• If the selected and detected kernel versions are the same – no update is available.

• If you only want to program the cluster, select it under the “detected modules” tab
• After the Kernels show up as being updated, Left click on the Program Icon.
If you only want to program one module than you must select “program module”.
The headlights will go “On” and “Off” during e programming and depending on the number of
modules the programming could take as long as 40 minutes to complete. Connecting a battery charger
and/or disconnecting the headlights is recommended.
• After clicking on Program Icon, you may be prompted with messages regarding programming the Body Controller. Respond
accordingly, as you would with normal Body Controller programming.
• During programming, messages will be displayed, at the bottom of the DLB screen, showing the programming status. This may take
up to 40 minutes, depending on how many
modules are updated.
• Ensure the programming is complete before disconnecting the computer. There may be pauses during the process, before it is
completed.
• When the programming is complete, the module Kernels, as each is selected, in the Selected Vehicle and Detected Columns should
match.

• Clear any DTC’s that are shown in DLB, after the programming is comple
• You may have to use the Clear DTC routine more than once to clear the DTC’s.
