DESCRIPTION
This document will guide the user through programming 500K calibrations N13 or N9/N10 engine.
As of the release of this article, the Nexiq USB Link 2 is the preferred cabled for programming.
NOTE The issues reported with NavKal have been resolved. NavKal, PocketMaxx, and OnCommand
Link can be used to program 500K vehicles.

DIAGNOSTIC STEP(s)

Calibration Upgrades:
1. Connect to NavKal software using green 500K adapter (compatibility chart)
2. Click Update Calibration under Campaigns tab to start programming.
3. Follow steps on screen for key cycles.
4. Process request for PVC using Process Requests tab.
Parameter Upgrades:
1. Connect to NavKal software using green 500K adapter (compatibility chart)
2. Once you have approval from Tech Services, click on Parameter Upgrades tab and enter case file number.
3. Follow steps on screen for key cycles.
4. Process request for PVC using Process Requests tab.
Blank Module Flashing:
If Module is brand new from Parts or off a 250K engine
1. Disconnect Module from all truck harnesses (if mounted on engine).
2. Use Programming Station (1280101) to connect to ECM.
3. Enter all required fields (Case File field no longer required) then click Save Request.
4. Go to Process Requests tab and process the pending request.
5. Click on Campaigns tab and click Flash Blank Module
6. Follow steps on screen for key cycles.
7. Process request for PVC using Process Requests tab.
If Module is already at 500K
NOTE: A26 Engine Control Modules communicates at 500K by default, proceed to steps below for A26 Blank
Programming
1. Connect to NavKal software using green 500K adapter (compatibility chart)
2. Click blank module flashing tab.
3. Enter all required fields (Case File field no longer required) then click Save Request
4. Go to Process Requests tab and process the pending request.
5. Click on Campaigns tab and click Flash Blank Module
6. Follow steps on screen for key cycles.
7. Process request for PVC using Process Requests tab.
NOTE - For blank ACM programming, part number 4063287C1 should be
ordered, as it comes from the PDC communicating at 500K. If the ECM and
ACM are being replaced, the ACM can be programmed on the truck AFTER
the ECM has been programmed first on the bench.
PocketMaxx
1. Connect to truck using green adapter for 500K with Key on (compatibility chart)
2. Once health report is done, the engine calibration will say Current or Not Current.
a. If calibration is Current, there is no update needed.
b. If calibration is Not Current, click Not Current to start process.
3. Follow steps on screen for key cycles.

Connect device to truck with Key On Engine Off.
Wait 4-5 minutes until device beeps.
Go to http://192.168.100.1/navistar
.
Configure device to connect to reliable WiFi near vehicle.
After scan is complete, it will tell you Calibration Update Available or Engine Calibration Up-to-Date.
Click Update Calibration and follow steps on screen to update vehicle calibration.
