Description
The Long Block Plus (LBP) service engine is a remanufactured engine rebuilt by Springfield Remanufacturing
Corporation (SRC). The LBP can be used for in-warranty and customer pay engine replacements. The LBP engine is
assembled with new and remanufactured components."Jake" engine brake assemblies are installed on every
engine except for SEVERE SERVICE (SS) applications. LBP engine's are shipped without engine oil.
New Components
Camshaft, cylinder “sleeves” liners, water pump, oil cooler module, gear driven fan drive assembly, Horton fan
components, fuel filter header assembly, HPFP assembly, fuel injectors, high pressure fuel lines, fuel transfer tubes to
injectors, low pressure fuel lines, fuel injector harness, thermostats, oil pump, oil pump shaft, exhaust manifold, turbo
oil supply line and turbo drain tube.
New / Remanufactured Components
Engine crankcase, cylinder head, connecting rods, pistons, high pressure turbo, low pressure turbo, “Jake” engine
brakes, rocker arm assemblies, geartrain, oil pump rotors and oil pump cover.
Components to be transferred from original engine
Engine wiring harness / sensors, EGR components; HT / LT cooler housing, brackets, heat shields, inlet, outlet, crossover tubes, inlet elbow to water distribution housing, inlet hose to oil cooler, (CCV) coolant control valve, Inlet NOx
sensor / module, (EBPVA) exhaust back pressure valve, (ITV) intake throttle valve, (ACV) air control valve, after
treatment fuel lines, (DSI) down-stream injector / module, (ECM) engine control module / bracket, (LPCAC) low
pressure charge air cooler, air / fuel lines, front accessory “pulleys”, alternator, dipstick tube / adapter, flywheel and air
compressor.

1. Review Health Report for EGR and low coolant faults.
2. Inspect and pressure check EGR cooler assembly before installation.
3. Inspect original engine for reusable components, for wear and damage prior to transferring and installation.
4. Follow the N13 engine service manual for proper torque procedures and values.
5. For severe engine applications remove the upper rocker cover and inspect for “Jake” engine brake assemblies,
transfer exhaust bridges and components, adjust overhead to specification.
6. If equipped remove composite rocker cover, install dust shield during installation tool 120000108.
7. Use long block plus gasket kit 2515613C91.
8. For vehicle's that have not been updated, install Horton fan drive retrofit kit 2515591C91.
9. ESN# will not change within the ECM. Program the injector IQA's and update the ECM to the latest calibration.
10. Calibrate the O2 sensor.
11. Prime the fuel system with Fuel Priming Tool 1292201.
12. Fill the engine to the correct oil level.
13. Fill the cooling system with the Cooling Management Cart KL5007NAV.
14. Please update the case file with "new" installed ESN, this will be used for tracking warranty and quality
concerns.
Prior to engine start up the technician must add the correct amount of oil to the
engine. To prevent fuel system damage / concerns the fuel system must be primed
with Fuel Priming Tool# 1292201.

or if the engine failure is a covered component in an extended service contract all technical support will be direct by
NAVISTAR TECHNICAL SUPPORT.
Only SRC reman engines purchased "OTC" over the counter, are covered under a parts warranty should be
directed to SRC.
