New Detroit Cylinder Head Gasket Standard Repair Time

 Overview

In collaboration with the Warranty Joint Application Development (JAD) committee and to further
support the service network and streamline the claims submittal process, DTNA is pleased to
announce the creation of a new Standard Repair Time (SRT) for a Detroit Cylinder Head Gasket
Replacement. The Detroit Warranty Department created SRT 012010 to replace CLO #012000 –
# Cylinder Head Gasket Leak.

Description
Cylinder Head Gasket Replacement

Effective for repair orders opened on or after November 15, 2015, CLO #012000 will no longer be
active. SRT 012010 must be used for all cylinder head gasket replacements. With a supporting
claim narrative, in addition to SRT 012010, other labor operations may be claimed for tasks such
as accessing components (e.g., bumper and rain tray) and/or repair validation.
Refer to the image below for the cylinder head and gasket and use Power Service Literature (PSL)
for the appropriate service method.

Cylinder Head Gasket Replacement
Summary: Includes all steps necessary to remove and install the cylinder head as an assembly
in order to replace a leaking cylinder head gasket.
Note: If the cylinder head is replaced, SRT 012000 should be used instead of SRT 012010.

SRT change may also affect non-DTNA brands, such as Pierce, MCI, Oshkosh, etc.

Repair times vary by chassis model and engine service model; please refer to the applicable Labor
Time Guides (LTG) for appropriate times and included labor operations. The new SRT is available
in the applicable LTG as well as at www.ddcsn.com > Warranty > Warranty Applications > Warranty
